My name is Tiffany Pfeifer and I’m the program coordinator for the Teen Mentoring program at UFM Community Learning Center. I am currently looking for volunteer mentors for the upcoming semester, and was wondering if you would be willing to share this opportunity with your students. Below are more details of the program and mentor expectations:
The Teen Mentoring Program is an after school program that connects middle and high school aged students with college students from Kansas State. Our program fosters a community atmosphere where students can build friendships, gain insights from the college mentors, and participate in recreational or artistic activities. The mentors and students meet once a week at UFM Community Learning Center, 1221 Thurston St. and offsite locations from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Weekly meetings discuss topics oriented towards teaching students positive life skills and host recreational activities designed to build group relationships. This program wouldn’t be possible without our mentors and the students love getting to know people at K-State!
