About Us

The society aims to inspire, promote, and foster a love of film art. The purpose of this club is to provide a safe space for anyone to discuss and critique all aspects of film. We strive to encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation of visual media all around the world, both past and present, through its viewing and discussion. Roger Ebert once said "....the single most important factor in learning to be literate about movies is to be part of an audience that is sophisticated about them.". With the proliferation of streaming services, this aspect of film viewing is fast dying and there is no sense of audience anymore. The society aims to share the joy of collective viewing of films and cultivate a culture of discourse on films in K-State.
