Are you passionate about your future career field, a unique skill, or a long-time hobby? Do you want to be known as knowledgeable or as an expert about a particular topic (fashion, travel, food, sports, design, etc.)? Do you want to be someone that people trust and look to for advice or perspective? Maybe you've thought about sharing your expertise on social media as an influencer. In this workshop, you'll learn the building blocks to creating your own personal brand, as well as how to tell your story through content and how to build a community of followers as a social media influencer.

Featuring:

Influencer, TikTok creator, media specialist, pastor, and musician Jahvelle Rhone. Jahvelle will share his story of becoming an influencer and being named a Top 100 Black Creative on TikTok.

Sheila Ellis-Glasper, founder/CEO and marketing strategist at SEG Media Collective, founder and president of the Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills, 2021 Minority Business Advocate of the Year from the State of Kansas Department of Commerce.

Jana Thomas, advertising and social media professor of practice at Kansas State University, social media strategist, social media educator, and advocate for social media citizenship.
