The Student Organizations Showcase is an online event, similar to Activities Carnival, where your group can create a virtual booth to promote and recruit new members for your organization. This booth will be live 24/7 on OrgCentral throughout the Showcase, Oct. 8-16. You don’t have to have anyone online during the Showcase to participate, however you can choose to host live virtual sessions if you wish!

Participants will be able to access the Student Organizations Showcase via a button on the OrgCentral homepage. When they enter this virtual fair, they will be taken to a map of group categories. When they click on a category, they will be taken to a list of groups associated with that category, as assigned by the Center for Student Involvement staff.
In your group listing, participants will be able to see your Group Name, photo, slogan, officers, and any documents or links you have made available. Your group can also choose to display an “I’m Interested” button, a Chat feature, and a Live Video Conferencing session. More details on that below.
When a participant clicks on your group name, they will see the full details of your virtual booth, including a longer description of your organization, more photos, video highlights, and any interests, sports, or industries you have associated with your organization.
On the left menu of the virtual fair, participants can navigate between the map view and the list of participating organizations, and can also see other participants who have joined in the Showcase. Under the Agenda, students can browse all upcoming Live Video Conferencing sessions offered by organizations. The Information Booth will take students to the Center for Student Involvement page. Additionally, participants can filter groups by those they have marked as interested, or those that are suggested to them based on shared interests, sports, and industries. They can also access any Chats they have started with organization officers.
How to set up your virtual booth
Watch this tutorial video on setting up your virtual booth
You must activate your virtual booth in OrgCentral to be included in the Student Organizations Showcase.
To do this, login to OrgCentral and click the gear icon next to your organization’s name in the Groups tab. This should take you to your Group Dashboard. You must be an Officer of your organization to access your Group Dashboard and set up your virtual booth. If you need assistance gaining officer access, please ask your organization president to login and make you an officer, or contact the Center for Student Involvement for additional assistance.
From your Group Dashboard, scroll down the left menu and select “More Tools” and then “Virtual Fairs”. You will see the Student Organizations Showcase 2022 listed – click the “Booth Settings” button next to the fair name. This will open a form that will allow you to customize your group’s virtual booth. Be sure to select YES to Activate your booth for the showcase.
A few tips for setting up your virtual booth:
- Chat
- Only select officers who will be committed to logging in to OrgCentral regularly throughout the Showcase to check and respond to chat messages
- Live Video Conferencing
- You can only list one live session at a time, but once your first session is over you can update your booth with the next session’s info
- Group Suggestions
- Select all that apply. This will help students find your organization and will show up in their “Suggested Groups” if they have things in common with you.
- Links
- This is a great place to list your social media accounts and any other important websites for your organization!
- Details
- Add as much detail as you can – groups with the most content are listed first!
