Our mission is to promote pride in and develop awareness of the K-State Division of Biology among current and prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public.

Membership Benefits
Members will learn about the Division of Biology and our K-State Biology community, and gain valuable leadership experience. As a service organization, members will contribute to the wellbeing of their fellow biology students, and gain experience serving as mentors to incoming students. Mission
We are the Kansas State Chapter of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society -a group of undergraduate and graduate students at K-State dedicated to exploring the latest advancements in medicine and biomedical technology. We come from a variety of majors and backgrounds, but we have one common goal: improve the lives of patients through technology.

Membership Benefits
a. All members must be in good academic standing as defined in the University Handbook.
b. Full membership shall be limited to registered students of Kansas State University.
c, To be considered an active member, an individual must attend at least 50% of all
scheduled large-group meetings and special events each semester, unless the Secretary
excuses them from this requirement upon presentation of a valid conflict (such as a class
or lab).
d. A member is one who is currently enrolled at Kansas State University and working
towards any degree. Members have indicated their desire to join EMBS by notifying the
secretary upon meeting the qualifications in Article 2, Section 1.
e. Members who expected to pay for the full IEEE and EMBS membership fee will receive
priority placement in opportunities with limited space such as tours, design teams, and
conferences. (approximately $50 for January-December). (For the first year membership,
regular members have the opportunity of having their IEEE & EMBS membership fees
partially or fully covered, dependent upon the amount of funding received and the budget
for the current year.)

Mission
Utilizing multiple rodent models of autism to examine the neurobiology of the disorder. In addition to examining social interactions, and repetitive behavior, the lab will be examining changes in cognitive flexibility and multisensory processing.

Membership Benefits
Students will have the opportunity to design experiments as well as participate in collecting and analyzing data. A variety of techniques including behavioral handling and training of animals, histology, ELISA assays, and immunohistochemistry can be learned by students. Students can develop a project and present the work at regional or national conferences and can gain valuable experience sharing their research.
