The mission of GSGSO is to “Promote the exchange of knowledge of grain science topics and to act as a mechanism to provide graduate students in the Department of Grain Science and Industry a common voice and promote social activity among members of the organization.”
All graduate students are automatically members of GSGSO upon admission to graduate school for the Grain Science & Industry program. Membership is completely free, and all Grain Science graduate students are eligible to receive the optional GSGSO Defense Support (a spread of beverage and food items) at the time of their research defense.
