This session will take an in-depth look at the requirements for a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GFRP) submission. If you are serious about submitting to this program, this is a session you should not miss!

Who should attend:
  • Student applicants
  • Major professors/faculty mentors - Experience has shown that faculty support can be very beneficial to students who want to submit to this program.
About the session
  • A panel of student awardees and faculty members who have served on review panels for this program will discuss tips and provide advice that you will not find in this program’s Request for Proposals.
  • Students will also have an opportunity to talk about their research ideas with the panel.
  • Attendees will also learn about K-State’s new EGFP award which can provide fellowships to GRFP Honorable Mention students who have an interest in mathematics.
About the NSF GRFP
  • The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) supports outstanding graduate students, in NSF-supported science (includes select social science fields), technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines, who are pursuing research-based master’s or PhD degrees.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens/permanent residents
  • Applicants must have senior standing or be in their first or second year of a graduate program and must enroll full-time in an accredited graduate program in the 2026-2027 academic year.
NOTE: Submissions are not yet being accepted for the GRFP. The Graduate School and the Office of Research Development are monitoring the status of GRFP and will communicate to K-State faculty and students when updates are available.
