Leadership Retreat
On August 18th, Student Programs and Involvement hosted a leadership retreat for all officers and advisors of recognized student organizations. We brought in a few guest speakers from various offices around campus. Policy Refresher/Updates
For this session, we brought staff members from the Office of General Counsel, the Office of Institutional Equity, and Student Support and Accountability to provide an overview of the resources they provide, a refresher on student organization policies and conduct procedures, and an overview of the protections the first amendment gives you and your groups.
Leadership
This session was presented by two staff members from Fraternity and Sorority Life. They covered how to effectively teambuild, recognize stressors, and navigate burnout.
Conflict Resolution
Dr. Brett Mallon, the Program Director of the Conflict Resolution Program, created this session to help student leaders navigate conflict on their team through conceptualizing conflict, communicating effectively, and understanding that space matters.
Fundraising
This session was presented by various different groups to showcase the different fundraising opportunities available to you as a student organization. SGA offers a multitiude of funds (that you can request here), the KSU Foundation presented how you can work with them to raise funds for various efforts, and Union Program Council shared the collaboration opportunities they have available!
