Members gain hands-on experience in designing steel structures, applying principles of statics, mechanics, and materials science. Kansas State University’s Amateur Radio Club (W0QQQ), in continuous operation since 1927, promotes interest in amateur radio by supporting curriculum through workshops and licensing opportunities, encouraging participation in regional and worldwide operating events, and providing service to both K-State and the surrounding community in coordination with the university’s emergency management plan. Membership includes students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

The KSU Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners is an organization whose mission is to provide veterinary students with increased exposure to issues of special interest in the equine industry.

Monthly meetings feature respected faculty, both veterinary and non-veterinary equine specialists, as well as equine practitioners and equine producers. Surgery, medicine, practice management, and equine facilities are just some of the topics discussed. Lunch presentations, weekly rounds, wet labs, fund-raisers, and continuing education conferences, are some of the "hands on" activities available to members. SCAAEP club advisors are dedicated to helping members learn more about the equine industry. Gender Collective is an organization designed to provide a venue for individuals who are transgender, cross-gender, intersex, androgynous, gender variant, or otherwise involved in activities, expressions, or presentation that is divergent from their birth-assigned sex. The educational and professional value these competitions provide the team members include the opportunity to apply learned skills to a real-world problem while also learning new analysis methods from fellow competitors. These competitions require participants to apply problem solving skills, communication skills, and academic knowledge on a national and international stage. Furthermore, in preparing for the competition, there is a significant amount of team building and team work involved, which prepares participants to tackle real world issues in the workplace with colleagues. Finally, both the IFAMA and AAEA competitions are held in conjunction with annual meetings for the respective organizations.
